‘Strive for Yourself’: English Poem by Rabia Yaseen

It was the first step that made me free,
Freed from the fear of things going wrong,
Acceptance, rejection, appreciations and what ifs,
Only hold you accountable when you stick to them.
I thought that surprises are way much better,
For you strive for your being without any expectations,
A point comes where you master self-actualization,
Obviously, it makes you understand yourself better.
It teaches you to do good for yourself and for others,
Without getting drained from watering the plants,
Thinking is like a puzzle having only answer,
Yet the way you make it determines the outcome.
Much important is a clear mind than tangled thoughts,
As truth is like a light that knows its direction.
