The Ravi: English Poem by S N Shaw
Odd clothes on
And peculiar souvenirs
There came a man
dressed extra ordinarily
with his feet bare
He brought with him
New Myths, fables and tales
he spoke in many voices
of weak, oppressed and the one’s to him dear
he came to that distant Arab land
they knew not from where
or where he went
they knew not his name
all they knew he was a narrator
they called him “The Ravi”.
