Ewing English Society to host first ever Forman Literary Festival

Named after one of Forman Christian College’s former Vice Chancellors, the late Dr J.C.R Ewing, the Ewing English Society holds a prominent place amongst the university’s most prestigious societies. EES is where the university’s most literary minded individuals come together and form a community which serves as an encouraging outlet for creative talent. Making use of Lahore’s status as the epicentre of art, music, and literature, the Ewing English Society strives to engage with literary societies all over the city.

This year, the Ewing English Society is proud to be embarking on the biggest endeavour in its rich history. The fist ever Forman Literary Festival – an event that has been in the works for over three months with the help of over one hundred volunteers from different departments of the university – is set to be launched as a three-day event that will host more than ten thousand literature lovers from all over the city.

From Nayab Jan to Dr Arfa Zehra, the society is honoured to have curated an incredible line-up of writers, activists, critics, and the overall crème da la crème of the Pakistani literature scene. Over the course of these three days, we hope to organize an engaging experience, with events in place such as writing contests, poetry slams and dastaan goi to enable our guests to be active participants in the festival. We at EES believe in the integrity of this event and expect it to be amongst the most notable literary festivals held in Lahore. We are working tirelessly to bring our vision for this event to fruition and hope to see everyone there who delights in literature as much as we do.
